The difference between explosion-proof fans and non-explosion-proof fans:

3. Explosion-proof blower has lower limit requirements for clearance between impeller and housing. To pursue efficiency, fans often have upper limit requirements for clearance, which are contradictory to each other.

4. Explosion-proof fan has stricter safety protection requirements for the import and export end.

From the perspective of size, the structural size of the underground mining ventilation fans is slightly shorter than that of ordinary mining fans, mainly because the mine fan can directly omit the guide vane. Another point is that the mining fan is better than the ordinary fan transmission effect, and then the impeller of the fan can be directly installed on the motor shaft, which is the so-called transformation of the traditional fan, so that the transmission device can be avoided in the process of being damaged, on the one hand, it directly reduces the energy consumption, and on the other hand, the transmission efficiency of the fan device is improved. Since it does not have an efficiency loss on the static vane, its efficiency is much higher than that of ordinary fans.

The reason why the air in the underground mining ventilation fans can move in the roadway and form the airflow is that there is an energy difference between the starting and ending points of the airflow. The generation of this energy difference, if it is provided by the ventilator, is called mechanical wind pressure; if it is produced by the natural conditions of the mine, it is called natural wind pressure. Mechanical wind pressure and natural wind pressure are the driving force of mine ventilation, which can overcome the ventilation resistance of mine and promote airflow. However, the natural wind pressure is generally small and unstable, and it is difficult to meet the requirements of mine ventilation. Therefore, Article 121 of the Coal mine Safety Regulations stipulates that mechanical ventilation must be adopted in mines. Therefore, the main fan has been widely used in coal mines to carry out mechanical ventilation, so that the mine ventilation conditions have been fundamentally guaranteed and improved.
